Artisan Leather Crafts with a Legacy
At the heart of our artisan leather crafts lies a legacy that blends family history, craftsmanship, and a passion for creating meaningful pieces. Our journey began with my father, a master craftsman whose life story is as rich as the leather he shapes.
At 16, he left home to work in Milan, immersing himself in the world of leather goods. For nearly two decades, he learned from master craftsmen, most notably Umberto Croce, a renowned artist and leather wallet maker. Their bond, forged through shared experiences, grew into a deep friendship that spanned years.
When Croce retired, he offered my father the chance to take over his leather wallet business—a gesture that spoke volumes about their mutual respect. Though my father declined for personal reasons, their friendship remained strong until Croce's passing in 2021.
As a child, I grew up hearing tales of this extraordinary craftsmanship. While my father never pressured me to follow his path, I couldn't resist the pull of his passion for leatherworking. My journey into entrepreneurship began far from home in 2015 when I traveled to Australia and South East Asia. During this time, I discovered my true calling: to build something creative, artistic, and connected to the earth. Upon my return to Italy, my father and I took a leap of faith and opened our artisan leather workshop in Montefiascone.
Here my great-grandfather Ernesto Romeo, originally from Calabria, became mayor and married Margherita Rossi, daughter of one of the town's most respected families at the time. In 1920? they founded Villa Margherita (O.N.P.I.), a care home for the elderly, which was named after my great-grandmother.
The Rossi family crest, featuring a flame and three stars, symbolises the passion we put into our work and our strive for excellence. We pride ourselves on using only the finest materials. We currently work with real leather only, while relentlessly exploring sustainable alternatives that meet the same quality standards with minimal carbon footprint.
For this reasons our products aim to be functional, reliable, and timeless.
